Flash - Forbidden Forest Shakedown Run

22 Sep 2007 11:00
22 Sep 2007 13:00

Join RunRik and RainNoTrain for a little 2-hour clandestine scouting mission in and around the Forbidden Forest.

Meet chez Jackson in North Vancouver at 11:00 and receive your orders. Leave your CFA t-shirt and your ID at home, just in case. Best to bring your headlamp, a change of clothes, a change of underware, a sat phone, a GPS, your toothbrush, your sleeping bag, your last will and testament and some gels....just in case. Possibility of a beer tasting afterwards, if there are any survivors.

There is no fee and you don't need to be a member of Club Fat Ass to participate in a Flash event, however whining is not allowed. You are responsible for your own well being and safety and should be self sufficient. If you are not a veteran Capilano Commando, you may have to submit to a hazing.

Please read the Release of All Claims. By participating in this event you agree to the terms of the Release of All Claims.

What time?

Is that 11:00-13:00 really or 23:00-25:00 (1:00)? I wouldn't see the need for the headlamps in the late morning!!! Hopefully at night I work on Saturdays until 21:23. If it is I'll see you then. Ryan

This is a daylight recon, so

This is a daylight recon, so 11:00 start time is correct. Headlamp and some other suggested gear was RainNoTrain's tongue planted firmly in cheek post-Stein.

Survivors?

Survivors may miss possible beer tasting if incarcerated. Come prepared for some bushwhacking. Chameleon-like clothing suggested, with a early fall rain forest theme.

Looks like MudRunner is in.  Have your spies managed to produce the treasure map?  MudRunner may have access to one.

Secret map

I have maps a couple of ways, digitally handheld as well as some printed handouts to bring showing the point of interest. If Muddy buddy has one too, bring it along, it is probably different. Des mentioned after Mountain Madness he may have a very useful map.
