The Missouri "Trailogy" Series - Episode #2 - Edgar M. Queeny Park near Manchester, MO

Edgar M. Queeny County Park is located between Town & Country, MO and Mancheser, MO. I like training in this park for a few key reasons:

-Proximity to my house, maybe 10k away

-Rolling Hills-nothing big, but a good workout!

-Runnable off and on road terrain

Queeny Park has LOTS of cool features, besides running, of course. The center of the park features an indoor ice rink, an Olympic sized swimming pool and a meeting center/rec area. The 596 acre preserve is also riddled with gorgeous small ponds, an equestrian obstacle prairie and plenty of scenery. PLUS, you don't have to deal wit traffic & cars!

The rolling hills on the 4.1-mile "outer loop" of Queeny Park:

The park is located just west of St. Louis and Kirkwood, where I live:

The park features a couple of places to refill your water bottles, particularly helpful on HOT & HUMID St. Louis summer days...

Now that we're hydrated - let's run!:

These are the equestrian stables on the east end of the park:

Although not long, there are plenty of short & steep hills to keep it interesting:

There's a SUPER cool equestrian challenge course on the large, wide-open prairie that makes up the north end of the park:

Not only nice flora in the park, plenty of fauna, too:

Sunset on the rolling hills of Queeny Park:

All-in-all, the park is 100% runnable, unless you've been out there for hours - then some of those short hills are going to challenge you

Thanks for running along in Queeny Park - here's to you Club Fat Ass!:
