hi Paul, I ran the Blackfoot

hi Paul,

I ran the Blackfoot 50k in 2007. It is a great race! It is a 25km loop of large rolling hills, through a nice park with lots of tree cover. The trail is mostly grass/dirt, and in some places hard clay. Because it is Edmonton in the spring, sometimes the snow sticks around late and then the race can be cold and wet and very muddy (or snowy!). Other years, it's warm and dry.

The organization is great. There are aid stations approximately every 5k (one of them is self-serve water, but the rest are crewed). My favourite part was strawberries at the aid stations; they were so refreshing! At the finish there is icecream and BBQ.

It sells out pretty quickly these days, so if you plan to do it make sure you register early!

cool!

That sounds great, thanks for the info, I will bear that in mind. If i cant find out about the tenderfoot then i think that sounds great... I will definitely book early! the Blackfoot track sounds fun and variable too, wonder if the snow will be there this time around....

Thanks for the feedback
