Holberg to Port Hardy 50K

Ms.J and I just got back from one fabulous W/E with the friends and families that partook in the sixth annual Foot Roast.
The race was won by Dave Johnstone of Sointula, second place went to Brad from Nanaimo and the Harriers swept the next three positions.

Lake Cowichan Vancouver Island B.C.

The GLW Ultra, or Great Lake Walk,( as it is refered to by the 400 or so walker that have been doing this event for the last 5 years), were joined this year by about 100 runners!

My run of the Cascade crest classic 100 mile endurance run.

I’ve tried to sit down and write up a story on this run but it’s been hard to put 27 hours and 100 miles in a short story. So here’s my best. My first memory of the weekend was the three of us John Karl and myself camping out the night before Gipsy style in a parking lot off the side of the freeway. Where I got to see how experienced ultra runners relax the night before the big race (they drink beer) no big surprise.

2006/09/02 Running the Juan de Fuca Trail

When they say the west coast of Vancouver Island is beautiful, they aren't lying!

I was fortunate enough to join some CFA folks on a run of the Juan de Fuca trail this past weekend and, without much prior knowledge of the trail, I didn't really know what to expect.

E/B Ultras

Report from Carlos. Hey Donald, nice to see you out there today. All the races today were very exciting , what a great bunch of guys and gals out there being energetic! As for the winners, lots of intrigue and surprises at the beginning with most of the favorites dropping, very weird, it made the Canadian National 100K championship a real hum dinger, very close finishes (in Ultra terms). You, Donald and Rob MacKay had a good run today, (isn't he a good pace pusher, he helped me a great deal at Chuckanut the other day, thanks man).
