Should Fat-Asses Date Fat-Asses?

Most of us are familiar with the debate over whether or not work colleagues should date one another.  Some say no.  Some say yes.  Some yes but only if they’re not already married to other people.  Yet others say work?  But tasteless jokes about small island nations like Newfoundland aside, I’m wondering if the same question should be asked about Fat-Asses dating Fat-Asses.

Get a Blog or Get a Life

I have a buddy who calls himself a blogger.  While I may have a blog, I don't consider myself a blogger when compared to this buddy.  You see, my buddy is always blogging.

I don't blog as much as I could, should and ought to.  However, I do work a 60-80 hour week, I make time for friends and family and I play outside a bit.  It's a question of priorities.

Good News on JDFT.

Proposed date for the JDFT

I would just love to run the Juan de Fuca Marine Trail this July 21st.

I'will check the tides and times but this will take a bit of planning.

I've done it faster from Botanical to  China beach Car pooling is the way to go for up to six and a driver.

That worked well last year....

Capilano Canyon Night Run - A Few Changes

Capilano Night Run - Preview

This Saturday is coming at us like a freight train. I figured it would be a good idea to run the course before I host the run so as to note any last minute hiccups.

Go Home: Possible Route Change

Go Home - 2006 - Mystery Creek Bridge 2 days

After the torrential rains Vancouver and especially the North Shore Mountains experienced, there are some bridge issues on the course of the Go Home. We're determining if the course needs altering a bit. If it does I'll update the course description before the run. It will only be a minor change.

Beyond The Horizon - Expedition Canada

For the last two years I have been following the adventures of Colin Angus, Tim Harvey and Julie Wafaei who set out to circumnavigate the earth using human power.  Last night, I attended their presentations at the Denman Theatre downtown.  If you don't have any plans for tonight yet, I highly recommend you attend their last engagement in Vancouver (then they are crossing Canada to present in different cities).

Inspiration

I haven't written in a while and don't have much to report without going into whining about a nasty bout of bronchitis turned asthma that put a damper on my running since February.  But before you feel pity for me, I thought I share a story with you that circulated on the Ontario Ultra Group today.  Make sure you watch the video (link at the end of the story)

Mary Leliveld's Happy Trails Run

Join us for a 10km trail run set in the beautiful Lynn Canyon Headwaters Park area of North Vancouver on terrain that ranges from flat and smooth to small hills with a few rocks. We would like to see this be a group run where we celebrate the life of a friend who can't join us anymore. Emphasis on camaraderie rather than competition. The run is followed by a potluck dinner and post-run party.

All single-day membership fees are donated to the Mary Leliveld Triathlon - BC Bursary Fund.  Individual donations to the fund are encouraged.  For more information and registration please click here.
