Mike and Melissa's Fun Run - Saturday Nov. 24th- Bean Around the World Mt. Seymour Pkwy.

Come join us for our funnest run of the year! Starting with a coffee and running around in the mountains with your friends -  is there a better way to spend the day?!  Please note the changed start/finish location and time.  We meet at Bean Around the World on Mt. Seymour Parkway in North Vancouver at 8:00 on Saturday and start at 8:30.

Closing in on 100 Ultramarathons

One of my BHAGs (Big Hairy Audacious Goals) is to complete 100 ultramarathons during the year I enter the 50+ age group.

This post is a work in progress that I hope will keep me focused and allow me to know when I get there. The reason I say, "know when I get there" is because some folks are sticky about what constitutes an ultramarathon that should count in circumstances such as this.

Car Pool for Rubble Creek Classic

Is anyone else doing this race?  Right now, we have two vehicles heading up for two people...not exactly ideal.  I would sure like to here from anyone who wants to work out a car pool or can give me some advice on handling the shutlle between the start and finish (in particular, what is the driving time between the two?).

You can email me at: rchore@my.bcit.ca .  Please refer to Rubble Creek in the title of your note (or it will get lost in the junkmail).

Thanks!

Russ

Monty

Was out today checking the official course for tomorrows third running of the Monty.

Looks like the Full is getting most of the votes this year.

Got my new camera and I'm stoaked.

ILTS!

Please join us at the Vancouver 100

We have 8 brave souls lined up for the Vancouver 100 run on June 2. Most of them are returning for a second or even third stab at this incredible course and the rest are going to discover what it takes to scramble for about 20 hours on our local mountains.

North Shore 6 Hour Enduro

Mark May 12, 8:00 am on your calendar. That's right, May 12th is the 4th edition of the 6-Hour Enduro held on the trails near Lynn River, North Vancouver.. The Enduro is a 7.6km loop course on a good mix of easy to challenging trails. Run as many or few laps as you like over a 6-hour period. Ideal training for those preparing for a summer ultra or out for a leisurely social run. The start/finish is held at the gazebo (end of Lillooett Rd.). Leave your gear and food at the gazebo, and head out for your run. Prizes will be drawn every hour. For more info check out the Enduro site.

Good luck to everybody doing Diez Vista Saturday!

It looks to be a very warm race, which is weird considering most of the training was done under monsoon like conditions. Hopefully you're all aware of the recent course changes.
I'm the aid station captain at #6, we'll try and get you hydrated and nourished and back up F U George as fast as possible. Menu choices: Potatoes: baked or roasted with a little sour cream and chives(just kidding), PBJ quesadillas, eload, chicken noodle soup with a bulb of garlic, Depending on how hot it is, you might get a popsicle, but you're not getting fruit sorbet.
