Miscellaneous stories from Club Fat Ass members.

Camping plans for the Mainlanders.

I have mown the lawn and whacked the dandy lions...

Good Luck, Western States Runners!

Come run the Fluffy Bunny!

New date and time! This sat June 20th, 0900. Come for coffee and light breaky items at 0800 when the park opens. Prizes to be drawn at 0830. Must be present to win. I'm planning on the full 35km along with a fellow fat asser Krys. Never been up on the Dilly Dally trail and am looking foward to it. Looks like Claudia will be joining us. yay! hope to see you out there. plenty of distances!

Cheers,

Jess

Vancouverite no more

So, I've moved to a different part of this gorgeous province of ours... I only had the chance to take part in two (or three? I can't remember) CFA events before I moved away from Vancouver but they were SUPER fun. And now I'm wondering if any of you are over on the Vancouver Island side of the water? I'm living in Victoria now, right near the Lieutenant Governor's house (within spitting distance of the garden, if you stand on the balcony - you're welcome to come over and give it a shot!).

Fluffy Bunny Trail Run

New date and time! June 20th 0900, Buntzen Lake.

Lots of distances for all runners.

For those who have attended before, there will be no pre run breaky this year. I have just updated the "Agenda" page to reflect "light snacks" and COFFEE pre run at 0800 when the park opens. Prizes will be awarded at 0830 for all those who are present. Due to the variety of finish times, this seems to be the way to go as a post run get to gether wouldn't work.

The 2009 Vancouver 100

We're getting very close to the date for the Vancouver 100. Our list of participants is very small so far. I don't understand why. Who wouldn't want to spend up to 24 hours or more on the Baden Powell Trail? You'll be surrounded by spectacular scenery, rugged terrain, wildlife, treacherous snow conditions, ever changing weather, potential darkness, and endless challenges. Included with that comes a complete lack of mosquitoes and a generous amount of time to spend contemplating life.

Monty Mania

I must be suffering from a mild form of schizophrenia... the voices are telling me to do the Full Monty this year.

I am going to run the Javelina Hundred once again and doing the Full Monty will be a good build up trail run. I will be practicing my sport in Kelowna, Manning park and Victoria. You are all welcome to join me in this fun.  The Monty is scheduled for July 18th and you can find out more about this great ultra at http://www.clubfatass.com/events/FullMonty

Watching some stellar performances this past weekend has motivated me to get busy... ILTS!

NIce to see some friendly faces at yesterday's Vancouver Marathon

Just wanted to say thanks to all the Club Fat Asser's who were either in the race or on the sidelines cheering us on.  It definitely helped push me into a personal best of 3:36:29! Now let's see if this translates to better trail race times....A report may be in the works, compared to my epic ultrarace stories, there's not much that happens in 3.5 hours.

Package pick up for the E/B

After my visit with our sponsor Phill Nichols at "Island Runner",the plan will be for package pickup from 16:30-18:30 at Fairfield Plaza followed by drinks and food at the "Ross Bay Pub", for any of the out-of-towners that night want an early supper before they go back to their Hotel for an early night.

Party Saturday night @ Billy Bishop Hall (Laburnum near Cornwall)

Featuring my band Santa Lucia and some great speakers.  Admission by donation to Damian Kettlewell's campaign.  Come out if you can!
