Ean Jackson's 2012 Fitness Resolutions

It's beginning to look like a trend:  Start the year with great expectations, injure myself, and hobble through the rest of the year.  Although I didn't set any world records, or even set any personal best athletic accomplishments in 2011, I'm please to say I'm ending the year in one piece and happy with how things turned out.

Sibylle's 2011 Fitness Goals - How did I do?

Here is my assessment on how I have done with my New Years Resolutions for 2011.  In general, I ran much less than I hoped for, due to a naggin injury.  However, I was able to at least do custom runs at most CFA events.  My lofter Bagger Challenge goals did me in though...Only climbed 2 peaks...

Goal #1: Vancouver New Years Day Fat Ass 25km.  done 1/1

Goal #2: Healing my torn ankle ligament! done 1/1

Ean Jackson's 2011 Fitness Resolutions - How'd I Do?

Less than a week until the end of 2011.  With the finish line in sight, I suppose it's OK to take score and see how I did relative to my friends and peers who were bold enough to share their fitness resolutions about this time last year...

Hoping to run for fun and try to dial up the speed a bit in 2011.  Here are the specifics of how I propose to measure my athletic success in the new year:

Running and related events

Cool UBC ultra running study/ free race/run: August 20th & August 21st 7am

UBC Cardiovascular Physiology and Rehabilitation Lab is conducting an interesting study of long distance runners by holding a free 75K run/race through Pacific Spirit Park/ UBC Endowment lands.

I've volunteered to be a guinea pig and you should too!

Bonuses:

Good Luck Knee Knackerers!

At the Club Fat Ass Steering Committee meeting last night, we noticed that 75% of the people in attendance were either running in the Knee Knackering North Shore Trail run or volunteering for the race.

Spaghetti, anyone? East Sooke Regional Park, where the sun is always shining...

...except when it's not :)

But seriously folks, it IS sunnier in Victoria! And windier, and we have bigger waves. And our trails are really cool! Come find out at this year's Spaghetti Trees run Saturday April 2, 2011. Also, our beer is better. You can find out more about that after the run...

New Years Resolutions Contest Winner 2010

In all the excitement around the holidays, wrapping up our annual contests and the Vancouver New Year's Day Fat Ass 50km Run, I somehow missed to post the winner of the New Year's Resolution Contest.
