Club Fat Ass is a grassroots sports club with a worldwide vision. Our members host trail running, triathlon, cycling and other "active lifestyle" events for fellow members. Club events are fun, physically challenging, environmentally friendly and emphasize camaraderie as much as competition. Each event is a reflection of the unique personality of the Event Host. All Club events are free to Club members. Membership is open to anyone who enjoys playing outdoors. Join us!

Mike and Melissa's Fun Run

My training for the Vancouver New Year's Run got slightly of track over the last 2 weeks. Fighting a stomach bug just couldn't get me excited going out in wet trails. Then I missed Dom's Go Home and all all my mid-week runs last week...

Sign up for your 2006 Club Fat Ass membership now!

Club Fat Ass membership registration and renewal is open for 2006.

As you probably know, I custom order our Club colors three (3) times a year in January, May and August. If you would like your club t- shirt included in the January shipment, I will need to know before the end of November. If you are new to the Club, or would like to tell a friend or gift a membership for Christmas, please note that all new members get free access to all remaining Club events in 2005, all events in 2006 and a t-shirt for only $35. Our Membership fees will go up to $50 in January, so what are you waiting for? Please take a moment and sign-up now !

2006 promises to be a great year for Club members ! The Club now offers members 26 free events in 3 countries, a vibrant online community, a free blog and a great head-turning technical t-shirt that comes with your annual membership.

I hope to see you as a Club member in the upcoming year and am looking forward to seeing you out on the trails between now and then .

Seymour Super Fun Run - 2005 - Year 4

The third annual Mike and Melissa's Fun Run was a complete success! A fun, hilly, rocky run through the trails of lower and upper Seymour Mountain.
Jim and I drove up Mount Seymour to drop off the van to act as our un-manned aid station. We were welcomed with a glorious clear, crisp day of about 2C with a little ice on the road and crunchy trails underfoot, promising to be a spectacular day for a run!

Last call for Mike and Melissa's Fun Run

Come and join Mike and Melissa for their annual M&M Run on the hilly, rocky trails of lower and upper Seymour Mountain. You can do one or two loops of approximately 26 kilometers. Prepare for all the Christmas indulgence. 'A potluck finisher brunch' - everyone contributes, everyone enjoys!!

Duct Tape: The Trail Runner's Best Friend

I was just reading Geoff’s comment in Sibylle Tinsel’s popular blog discussion about running in the rain. To summarize, Geoff doesn’t like to run in the rain because he ends up with bloody nipples. Sibylle, in turn calls him a wuss and suggests he use Band-Aids.

Only Three More Days to Go Home...

Only three more days left to the second annual Go Home 20 trail run. Join us on Saturday, 19 November, for a beautiful, challenging 20km run on single track trails in the North Shore Mountains. The weather forecast is looking splendid with dry skys and above average temperatures for the weekend...However, be prepared for the elements as conditions in the mountains can change fast!
