Looking for Ideas and Suggestions on an event

 Hey Everyone,

I wanted to organize an annual "wilderness" ultra.   I put it in the events calendar as the Full Moon Frenzy Ultra  http://www.clubfatass.com/events/full-moon-frenzy-ultra

I was going to run the race every year within a reasonable driving distance of Vancouver, where there is some sort of trail system.  The distance would usually be between 80 and 160 km, depending on the terrain and trail.  Since snow pack is an issue for most of the areas I'd want to hold this event, August and September are some of the only feasible months, but the daylight hours in early August are much more appealing.   Also, I figured a bit of moonlight would always help, since running at night during these distances is always inevitable.  So I figured I'd center this event around the lunar cycle.

Other Areas I'm interested in holding the event:
 - The Southern Chilcotins around Gold Bridge, BC
 - The Wonderland Trail around Mt. Rainier
 - The first section of the PCT

Then, as far as "racing" goes, I didn't want to leave anyone alone in the middle of nowhere, so I wanted to stay as a group.  In order for there to be some sort of competition, I figured having a "sprint finish" for the last 10 or so km was acceptable, and having either intermediate "sprints" based on points would also be fun.  Maybe this is just the cyclist in me talking though.

Any suggestions on the organization of the event, or on locations to do would be much appreciated.

oh ya.  After party's at the Trail Head are a must (of course).

Juan de Fuca trail?

probably not wildernessy enough... also, prairie inn already does this in August (i bet we would have a better party though!!)

there's also the "new" vancouver island spine trail. i don't know a lot about it, other than it's long and runs the entire spine of vancouver island! but would take a long time to get to any trailheads from vancouver.
