Location:
East Vancouver - Vancouver - North Vancouver
Run from William Jans' house in East Vancouver/Mount Pleasant to top of Grouse Mountain. 5th year running. Hang about Ambleside park afterwards for a bit for Canada day stuffs and to eat yogurt. Bring a bit of cash for tram, food and possible bus home (unless we catch lifts).
START: You can start from 3436 Sophia Street at 6:30 a.m., or meet at Lions Gate Bridge WEST SIDE (approx. 7:20 am), or the foot of Grouse to join in that part (approx. 8:20 am).
PACE: Not too fast.
COURSE AND ESTIMATED TIMES:
- **6:30 start at 3436 Sophia Street. Zigzag towards Cambie bridge (no defined route), to Stanley Park Lost Lagoon
- then EITHER on west side of trails running parallel to road going through Stanley Park to bridge, OR on west sidewalk (depending on sun and how I feel)
- Over Lions Gate bridge on the west side, (7:30 am or so on back side.) I will wait just a bit if I know someone is coming. Please let me know
- down over the small bridge that heads to Park Royal, somehow get to trails from there (dont recall route right now) then follow the trails that - head up to Cleveland dam - this is pretty much the Seek the Peak route, as I recall.
- arrive at Cleveland dam and drink water - around 8:00 am I guess
- arrive foot of Grouse maybe around 8:20 am??
- do Grouse Grrind portion

2006 - full run 2:53:00 *arrive end of Lions Gate 1:00:27 after start time, arrive Cleveland Dam 1:40:04 after start time, arrive foot of Grind at 1:53:00 after start time.
2008 - full run 2:53:53. Arrive end of Lions Gate 1:00:00 after start time, arrive Cleveland Dam 1:35:00 after start time, arrive foot of Grind at 1:55:29 after start time.
