Why: Because it's a mystery.
Who: Given that the Tunnel of Love is reputed to be deep in the back country, this run is best suited to very experienced back country runners. By invitation only.
When: Date still TBD with interested parties

Any chance to get some info and or an invitation?
Unless you're thinking on doing something over 50 km ( a bit too much), but otherwise, that woould be something i would be interested on, if I qualify. Cheers.

Good Luck
Good luck trying to find it. From my understanding he said it is pretty hard to find. I might have to join you on the 30th as I have never been up Crown Mountain ... sounds like an adventure.
Thanks, Tracy!
Many thanks for the advice. I was planning to run up to Crown this weekend, so finding this mine will provide a nice diversion.
BTW, I found this Tunnel of Love up near Mount Seymour last week!
Tunnel
I asked a friend of mine about the so called Tunnel up towards Crown Mountain. Here's what he had to say ....
"There is an old mine shaft north of Crown and Camel. (it's very high and built by hand) Built in the late 1800's and the mine closed in 1927. The BC mining office will have the exact location. Just look up claims during this time. Gerry Brewer may have some more information on this topic. Gerry is the old City Manager and resides in North Vancouver and is very open to phone calls.
Recon Run to Crown
The weather was great and I found myself at on Crown Pass this past Saturday during Des's "Go Home via the Haines Valley" http://www.clubfatass.com/events/gohome/results/2008 run, so opted for a little detour up to Crown with Graham and Ryne to see if we couldn't find the %*(&T(* tunnel.
Good news? Nice day. Great company. Graham got some awesome photos. Found a few small cavities that might be called shallow caves, but no tunnel.
Bad news? Unless more information comes in soon, I will have to write off the tunnel as an urban myth.
Where is the Tunnel?
