Almost Annual Achievement Achievements??

OK, so its getting close to the end of the year, which means that I have to actually report on my list of goals and the progress I made....here goes...

Everything You've Always Wanted to Know About 100-Milers (But Were Afraid to Ask)

I was recently volunteered to moderate a discussion panel at an upcoming Club Fat Ass speaker event.  The topic is the Western States 100-Mile Endurance run and how to run a 100-mile run

With the Western States lottery coming up in a few weeks and a stellar panel of Western States finishers assembled to share their knowledge, interest in the speaker evening is running high.

Ean Jackson's 2007 Fitness Resolutions

It's Sunday 31 December 2006.  I just assessed my 2006 fitness resolutions and gave myself a 75% or "C" grade.  Room for improvement!

32 Miles Done - 1PM

Dear all,

I have survived my 2nd. 100 mile romp.    I was 11 hours behind Karl Meltzer the winner.  I placed 29th,in a time of 26:25:00.  Yes, I saw two sunrises DURING MY RACE!"

Beyond The Horizon - Expedition Canada

For the last two years I have been following the adventures of Colin Angus, Tim Harvey and Julie Wafaei who set out to circumnavigate the earth using human power.  Last night, I attended their presentations at the Denman Theatre downtown.  If you don't have any plans for tonight yet, I highly recommend you attend their last engagement in Vancouver (then they are crossing Canada to present in different cities).

Inspiration

I haven't written in a while and don't have much to report without going into whining about a nasty bout of bronchitis turned asthma that put a damper on my running since February.  But before you feel pity for me, I thought I share a story with you that circulated on the Ontario Ultra Group today.  Make sure you watch the video (link at the end of the story)

October Eve Fun Run

I’m not sure if you want results for this morning’s run, but I ran 42.2 km in 3:40.

My GPS has the course at 53.7 km.  Downloading the data into Motion Based software yields a corrected distance of 54.4 km.  This was Gilles and my guess before today based on pacing from Jan. 1.  If you zoom in on the attached map, it looks like the Garmin tracked well.

Holberg to Port Hardy 50K

Ms.J and I just got back from one fabulous W/E with the friends and families that partook in the sixth annual Foot Roast.
The race was won by Dave Johnstone of Sointula, second place went to Brad from Nanaimo and the Harriers swept the next three positions.
