World Run Slide Show

On October 23, 2005 Dane Jesper Kenn Olsen, 34 became the first person to successfully run, in daily increments ranging from 14-93km, one lap around the Earth on land masses, setting a Guinness Book of World Records record.

What began from the Old Royal Observatory in Greenwich, London, England on January 1, 2004, ended there 26,323 km later - One lap around the World - on October 23, 2005.

Website Upgrade

Practice run for Forbidden Forest?

Kettle Moraine 100  has a 38 mile night fun run this year.  They're using it as a way to get people out on the course to encourage the ultras.  What a great idea.  Hope it turns into a trend.  Here's the link

Mountain Highway Madness - 19 March 2006

Mountain Highway Madness is coming up soon.

Mountain Highway Madness is an interval run. About 15K long, in the woods
on a wide, dirt and gravel road... it goes up and down a big mountain in
North Vancouver. While you don't need a doctor's certificate, you have to
be at least a bit crazy to even consider the challenge. Details at:

North Shore Athletics Shopping Night - 15 March

Get tricked out for the upcoming season. Keith at North Shore Athletics has invited all Club Fat Ass members for beer and pizza as well as 20% discounts and a talk by a guest speaker. If you've not joined already, here's further incentive. Mark March 15th at 6:00 in your calendar and kindly RSVP so Keith doesn't run out of beer.

Poster Children Needed

Now that the 2006 Club t-shirts are in we are looking for poster children to model the new shirts. Anybody owning a shirt can apply. Please contact Sibylle to arrange for a photo shoot.

1st - Gary Robbins
of Squamish, BC took top spot with the photo of his exuberant finish at the 50km Knee Knacker North Shore Trail Run last July. Gary will receive a refund on his 2006 membership dues and eternal bragging rights.

New Event, Run to the Clouds... it is happening!

Well, for any of you that have not heard yet the Coquitlam Club Fat Ass crew are putting on a new event here in the Tri Cities area in about 2 short months. April 22nd is the date to keep clear on your calendar. You will not want to miss this one...

2nd - Robbins also took second place with his exposed rear end at Cape Spear. He officially becomes the first athlete to take a gold and a silver in the same event while being censored!
