2 Days To Go-Transrockies

Well, Friday night, sipping a glass of red wine at 11 000 feet. We actually trained pretty hard this week. Did a final 1:15:00 yesterday with a 20 minute tempo run. However, don't be fooled, at 11 000 feet running very slow gets your heart rate up to tempo rate-so no blistering pace by me. My partner Phil had a HR of 10 beats less so his fitness somewhat better. I'm hoping to pull my weight though. Speaking of weight, we spent the morning in a spa. Phil weighed 147/148 and I pulled in at 154. Damn!!! We've already had loads of laughs.

Our massage therapist Chris Maynard is adding to the constant chuckles-but he might be getting tired of our electronic music. Tiesto-Oakenfold. A couple fast peeps have entered the last day or so making it interesting. We've decided to completely put blinders on and let the week unfold. By the 4th day and 3rd day in a row of plus 25 miles, with PLENTY of climbing and descending, a lot can happen.

I've been really lucky to hook up with Phil. We are staying in an amazing condo in Beavercreek just outside of Vail..many millions of dollars. And we picked up our RV that will house us during the week (which Chris will drive to the start/finish of each day). Now dinner time and bed. Tomorrow we register.
